So what did I learn?

Humans are shallow.

They judge one another with minimal information, and I don't think that will ever change. Girls and boys alike have always faced judgement, whether it be verbal or physical-based, and always will. And it hurts. Humans are capable of such terrible things - we can try to diffuse the pain, but all we can really do is hold the ones we love close.

And that we can. We can read stories together - picture books, mysteries. Nothing brings people greater joy. We can take time to sit down and listen to each other's stories. I saw the impact this action had on my own family, and if we all took the time to do this, our world would be a much better, more enriched place to live.

We can write stories. Every single person has their own set of wild, unique thoughts. We need to encourage one another to be more open and express them to the world. To you, reading this: we all want to hear them.

I learned that people are crazy, but more importantly, that they're crazy beautiful. And that's something else that will never change.
